Qatar, Belgium to boost air service, academic cooperation
DOHA, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Qatar and Belgium have signed two agreements on air service and academic cooperation in Brussels, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported Wednesday.
The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani held a meeting with the HM King Philippe of Belgium and the Prime Minister of Belgium Charles Michel on his official visit to Belgium on Tuesday, and signed an air services agreement, aiming to facilitate the operation of commercial flights between the two countries.
The two countries also signed an academic cooperation agreement to strengthen academic and research cooperation between Qatar University and the University of Hasselt in Belgium.
Belgium is one of the first European countries to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar in 2007. Doha is hosting about 30 Belgian companies working on the infrastructure projects, particularl y FIFA 2022 World Cup projects.Source: Google News Belgium | Netizen 24 Belgium
